Master Calligraphy Series
Chinese characters for "Zhan Zhuang" displayed in a horizontal curved acrylic frame, with optional acrylic stand included. Frame size: 8.5" x 5.5" with 4.5" x 6.5" character insert.
Zhan Zhuang (Standing Post or Standing Pole) (pinyin: zhan zhuang) literally means "standing like a post" and is a Daoist training method practiced by students of internal martial arts and qigong (internal health exercises). The amount of time spent practicing Zhan zhuang varies between styles and schools; one may spend anywhere from two minutes to two hours standing in one posture. It is often considered one of the most important exercises to develop the foundation skills needed for advanced training.
The character is painted in running script style, then printed on acid-free 100% cotton archival paper. A unique curved acrylic frame focuses attention on the character and makes a simple, yet beautiful way of displaying the character on a desk, shelf, or table.
