The Art of Chu Shao-Meng

 

The Kucheng, a traditional plucking instrument from China, was invented around 231 B.C. Most of the first Kuchengs used to have twelve or thirteen strings. After gradual improvement, the Kucheng with twenty-one strings became the most popular. Chu Shao-Meng, an outstanding musician in Mainland China, learned how to play the Kucheng from the famous musician Kao Yin.
