Five Day Fall Retreat with Grandmaster William C.C. Chen Join the acclaimed Grandmaster William C. C. Chen for an intensive five-day Tai Chi Chuan Fall Retreat. Knowledge of the Yang-style short form is a requirement for participation. The retreat will include Yang-style Short Form, Form Refinement, Applications, and Push-Hands. Grandmaster William C. C. Chen will conduct an intensive five day Tai Chi Chuan retreat this fall on Yang style short form Refinement, Applications, and Push-Hands. Grandmaster Chen started teaching tai chi chuan in the early 1950s while training as a live-in student of the world famous, great Grandmaster, Cheng Man-Ching. Besides being the youngest of professor cheng's students, he was also a favorite disciple. In the 1950s as well, he becam involved competitively in various free-style, chinese wushu. In 1958, he won second place in the taiwan national olympic competition. Grandmaster C. C. Chen has devoted his life to the study of body-mechanics and the effects of tai chi chuan on physical health as well as its use in self-defense. His approach is to make tai chi chuan simple, easier, natural, enjoyable and productive.

36 Day ShengZhen Meditation/Healing of the Heart Retreat w/Junfeng Li A first time 36 day retreat at Eastover, in which Master Junfeng Li will meditate and practice not only Sheng Zhen Gong daily, but will also share traditions that can help develop Qi healing energy. Entering the Dao: A Weekend of Daoist Arts w/Solala Towler A full immersion into the Daoist arts of qigong, meditation, Daoist philosophy, and tea ceremony. Drawing on Solalas 28 years of stud, participants will delve into the ancient Daoist text the Dao De Jing, revealing the many practices contained therein. Daoist meditation as well as dao-in or Daoist yoga will be taught as well. Solala will also be spending some time on the Daoist tea Ceremony, sampling special teas and taking part in a ceremony designed to open your heart and hara. The qigong practice will be an ancient cosmological form called Wuji (Primordial) qigong, which was created by Zhang San Feng, a Daoist master and legendary originator of Taijiquan, (Tai Chi) 800 years ago, in the Wudang Mountains. This ancient magical Daoist qigong form combines circular movement, breathing and visualization, stimulating the flow of qi (vital force) for health, longevity and spiritual opening. By working with the primal energies of the five directions and the qualities of each  (East: The Green Dragon, South: The Red Phoenix, West: The White Tiger, North: The Black Turtle and Center: The Yellow Dragon)  the practitioner is performing an energetic ritual that has been practiced hundreds of years.

Mulan Quan (aka Orchid Fist) Tai Chi with Alexia Rees Mulan Quan is the only major Tai Chi style developed by a woman master exclusively for women. Although the style is new to America, its health benefits have attracted thousands of followers throughout China, Japan, Southeast Asia, and Europe. Based on Hua Jia Quan, an ancient martial art featuring dance movements, this style is both powerful and feminine at the same time. Mulan Quan is beautiful to watch; it is a meditative dance through which the practitioner develops gracefulness, poise, strength, balance and flexibility, and is highly effective for rebalancing, quieting and focusing the mind. In this immersive workshop, Alexia Rees will introduce participants to the fundamentals of this unique style, the 24-posture basic Mulan Quan form, as well as the short Fan form. The basic form serves as a powerful daily practice, as well as a foundation for learning Mulan Quan Fan and Sword forms. Each session will open with gentle QiGong (vital energy gathering) warm-ups, followed by instruction on the form. By the end of the workshop, participants will have a solid foundation and will be able to practice at home on their own.
