Mulan Quan (aka Orchid Fist) Tai Chi with Alexia Rees. Mulan Quan is the only major Tai Chi style developed by a woman master exclusively for women. Although the style is new to America, its health benefits have attracted thousands of followers throughout China, Japan, Southeast Asia, and Europe. Based on Hua Jia Quan, an ancient martial art featuring dance movements, this style is both powerful and feminine at the same time. Mulan Quan is beautiful to watch; it is a meditative dance through which the practitioner develops gracefulness, poise, strength, balance and flexibility, and is highly effective for rebalancing, quieting and focusing the mind. In this immersive workshop, Alexia Rees will introduce participants to the fundamentals of this unique style, the 24-posture basic Mulan Quan form, as well as the short Fan form. The basic form serves as a powerful daily practice, as well as a foundation for learning Mulan Quan Fan and Sword forms. Each session will open with gentle QiGong (vital energy gathering) warm-ups, followed by instruction on the form. By the end of the workshop, participants will have a solid foundation and will be able to practice at home on their own.

Yang Style Taijiquan Training with Master Fukui Yang and Rick Barrett. Taijiquan is usually taught from the outside in: you learn the choreography, practice for years, and gradually come to understand whats going on inside. In this seminar, 2 teachers/healers with over 70 years of martial arts/clinical experience teach it from the inside out, showing not just how to feel the qi, but what to do with it. Taijiquan is a martial art, a practice for health & healing, a moving meditation, and a spiritual practice. In this workshop, Fukui Yang and Rick Barrett will share their extensive knowledge and experience in a loving, understandable way, and also teach students how to get the most out of their taichi practice. Master Yang brings the unbroken tradition of authentic Chinese martial arts and philosophy while Rick Barrett takes us through the Western Gate to translate esoteric principles into teachable, experienceable abilities.

Opening the Heart with Sheng Zhen Meditation & Stillness - with Jing Li. To feel at ease and worry free is everyone's wish. We're all seeking deeper meaning in life and lasting happiness. Most people are seeking for ways in the outer world in which to be healthy and happy; however, if we would seek internally instead turning to the Heart, it is possible to tap into the deep and lasting contentment that resides there - in all of us. Sheng Zhen meditation leads practitioners to the innermost place the Heart. The use here of a capital H is to indicate that knowledge of the Heart in Chinese life and culture is not identical to what native English speakers refer to as the heart: In Chinese culture, Heart is the master of all the internal organs (Neijing Suwen, chapter 8; and Neijing Lingshu, chapter 71) The Heart is the seat of all emotions (Zhang, 1642; Li et al., 2013) The Heart is in control of the mind. (Neijing Suwen, chapter 9) The soul resides in the Heartsee Chinese word (Li et al., 2013) Jing Li is the gifted daughter of Master Junfeng Li, renowned founder of the Sheng Zhen Society
